What is CodeCratz?
24-hours hackathon is designed for polytechnic students across Maharashtra, focusing on real-world problems. The event features an elimination round followed by a final round, with each problem statement culminating in a winner. Participants will innovate and collaborate to develop solutions that address pressing challenges in various fields. Our Hackathon aims to bring together innovative minds from various polytechnics across Maharashtra to collaborate, create, and compete in developing solutions to the problem statements provided to them. This event will not only showcase creativity and technical skills but also foster community engagement and networking.

PS-1
Finance Tracker: A new and innovative way of keeping account of all your finances
Individuals often struggle with effective financial management due to a lack of accessible tools. Traditional methods are time-consuming and lead to poor decisions. Develop a user-friendly finance tracking app that provides real-time insights, automates expense categorization, offers personalized financial advice, and ensures robust security. This app should help users gain control over their finances and achieve their goals effortlessly.
Desired Solution:
Participants are tasked with developing a comprehensive app to manage finances. It should include:
- Easy to use interface: The app should be simple to navigate and use, even for people who are not tech-savvy.
- Accurate tracking: The app should be able to accurately track all of your income and expenses, including recurring bills and one-time purchases.
- Budgeting tools: The app should allow you to set budgets for different categories, such as groceries, entertainment, and transportation.
- Savings goals: The app should help you set and track savings goals, such as saving for a car or a down payment on a house.
- Insights and reports: The app should provide insights into your spending habits, such as how much you spend on different categories and how you are spending changes over time.

Smart Parking: A solution for Effortless Parking Management
With the rapid increase in urban population and vehicle ownership, finding an available parking spot has become one of the most significant challenges in cities worldwide. Drivers often spend a considerable amount of time searching for parking, leading to increased traffic congestion, pollution, and frustration. This app should help drivers find available parking spots in real time, reduce congestion, and optimize parking space usage.
Desired Solution:
Participants are tasked with developing a comprehensive app/ platform which includes:
- User-Friendly Mobile App: Intuitive interface for locating and reserving spots which will guide users to their reserved spot with turn-by-turn directions.
- Integration with Navigation Systems: Connect with GPS and navigation apps to provide Directions to available parking spots integrated into navigation apps.
- Smart Sensors and Monitoring: Use sensors to detect vehicle presence and Real-time data on parking occupancy communicated to the server.

Event Handling: College Event Management System
Colleges and universities host numerous events throughout the academic year, including cultural festivals, technical symposiums, sports meet, workshops, and guest lectures. Managing these events efficiently can be challenging due to the need for coordination among various stakeholders, tracking registrations, handling logistics, and ensuring smooth communication.
Desired Solution:
Participants are tasked with developing a suitable platform for the event management system which should include:
- Event Creation and Management: Allow organizers to create and manage events, including setting dates, times, venues, and descriptions.
- Online Registration: Enable participants to register for events online, with options for payment processing if needed.
- Communication Tools: Provide tools for sending notifications and updates to participants and volunteers about the event, venue and announcements via email, SMS, or in-app messages.
- Attendance Tracking: Implementing an attendance tracking system enhances record accuracy, monitors participation trends, ensures accountability, and simplifies reporting.
- E-Certificates: Automatically generate and distribute e-certificates to participants and volunteers upon completion of the event. These certificates can be customized with event details, participant names, and signatures.

Mobile Based Attendance Management System
In many educational institutions, tracking student attendance is often done manually or through outdated systems, leading to inefficiencies, inaccuracies, and a lack of real-time data. This can result in administrative delays, a lack of insight into student engagement, and difficulty identifying students who may need academic support. A more streamlined and reliable system for tracking attendance is crucial for improving the educational experience for students and reducing administrative burdens for faculty and staff.
Desired Solution:
Participants are tasked with creating a user-friendly platform for attendance management in colleges. The app should include:
- Faculty Login: Enable secure login for faculty members to manage attendance records.
- Real-Time Attendance Marking: Allow faculty to mark student attendance per lecture, distinguishing between theory, practical and tutorial sessions.
- Batch-Wise Division: Customize attendance tracking based on batch allocations (e.g., B1, B2 have practicals, B3 has extra hours).
- Class Summaries: Generate summaries by class, showing attendance for both theory and practical sessions.
- Student Summaries: Provide student-specific summaries, including the number of lectures attended and practicals completed.
- Attendance Percentage Tracking: Calculate and display each student's attendance percentage for easy monitoring.
- Daily, Weekly and Monthly Report Generation: Generate timely reports of students' attendance which may be accessed individually, batch-wise or class-wise.

Women Safety App : Approach to Empowering Women’s Safety and Security
In today’s world, personal safety for women remains a significant concern, with many feeling vulnerable in various environments. Develop a user-friendly women safety app that provides real-time safety alerts, location tracking, and emergency assistance features to empower women to feel secure and confident in any situation.
Desired Solution:
Participants are tasked with creating a comprehensive app focused on women's safety. The app should include:
- User-Friendly Interface: The app should be easy to navigate, ensuring that users can access its features quickly and intuitively, regardless of their technical expertise.
- Real-Time Location Tracking: The app should offer real-time GPS tracking, allowing trusted contacts to monitor the user's location during outings or when feeling unsafe.
- Robust Security Measures: Implement strong security features to protect users' personal data, ensuring their privacy and safety while using the app.
- Collaboration with Local Authorities: Partner with local law enforcement agencies to facilitate quick responses to alerts and provide users with access to community safety initiatives.

Open Innovation: Social and Environmental Cause
As social and environmental challenges like inequality, pollution, and resource depletion grow more urgent, immediate and impactful action is vital. To address these interconnected issues, innovative and creative solutions are key. This problem statement is designed to motivate individuals and groups to develop ideas that tackle specific social and environmental concerns, inspiring real-world change.
Desired Solution:
Participants are asked to create a comprehensive platform (such as an app or another innovative tool) to address pressing social and environmental issues. This platform should:
- Identify a Critical Challenge: Focus on the social or environmental issue that matters most to you—whether it’s poverty, pollution, access to clean water, social justice, or inequality. Choose an issue that you are passionate about, something that has a tangible, meaningful impact on communities and the environment.
- Design a Creative, Sustainable Solution: Develop an innovative, eco-friendly approach to mitigate or solve your chosen problem. Think outside the box, considering both short-term feasibility and long-term sustainability. Aim for solutions that have a lasting positive effect on the environment and society.
- Long-Term Impact: The solution should be designed with the future in mind, fostering social equity, environmental justice, and resilience. It should contribute to creating sustainable communities and improving quality of life, while minimizing the negative impacts on ecosystems and human health for future generations.
- Technology Integration: Proposals that incorporate cutting-edge technologies, such as IoT, AI, machine learning, or other digital tools to monitor, address, or reduce social and environmental issues, are strongly encouraged. These technologies should enhance the platform's effectiveness and scalability, driving lasting change on a larger scale.

RULES FOR CODECRATZ:
Eligibility And Team Formation
- 1st year students are not allowed to participate in CodeCratz.
- Diploma students from all over Maharashtra are welcome to participate.
- All the members of your team should be of the same college.
- Teams should have a team leader along with 3 other members for a total of 4 participants.
- Meals and accommodation will be provided for all participants throughout the 24-hour finals.
Idea Submission
- While registering for the competition, your idea should be submitted in the form of PDF.
- Teams are permitted to submit ideas for multiple problem statements.
- (Note: The team should have same four participants for any or all problem statements submitted)
- Please follow the given template for creating the proposal of your idea.
Shortlisting and Finals
- The top 4 teams from each problem statement shall be chosen for the 24 hr Grand Finale which is set to be held on 17th and 18th January 2025.
- Teams are required to carry the following documents: College ID, Government ID and Consent Form.
- After the 24 hr Grand Finale, teams are expected to present a working model of their solution to the judges for evaluation.
- Any solution prototypes created by the finalists will be the intellectual property of the organizers


About us
The founder of Agnel Ashram, Fr. C. Rodrigues was a great visionary. His vision was to foster love and understanding among the various communities in India and to contribute to the development of self-reliance among the youth through education. Agnel Polytechnic in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, was started in 1983 with only one program – Diploma in Civil Engineering. It has grown since then, and today we have five branches of study in the polytechnic – Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electronics & Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence & Machine learning. What makes Agnel Polytechnic a unique institution in Mumbai is its discipline and culture and the dedication of the faculty in imparting knowledge and expertise to the students in a cosmopolitan atmosphere.
